Have you ever been to a really exciting workshop or seminar before? I’ll bet that by the end of it you felt like you could take on the world and bring all of your greatest dreams to fruition instantly. And probably, if you could have captured that energy and continued to have it at the same level in the future, you could do that.
But what happens in most cases? A few days or a couple of weeks later the great goals you set for yourself have faded back into the distance and real life has caught up with you again. You’re feeling frustrated and miserable because those workshop feelings were so great, you thought you could hold onto them forever.
So how can you keep your goals, and the energy it takes to fulfill them, alive? Here are a couple of good ideas:
1. A easy concept to remember is “Where focus goes, energy flows.” So if you want to keep you energy up, maintain your focus. You can do this by making your goals visible – hang them on your wall, post them on your bedroom mirror, or put them as your background on your computer screen. They can be words or pictures, whichever suits you most. The more often you see them the more you will remember and focus upon them.
2. Find people whose goals are like yours. Being around like-minded people means that not only will you see your goals (because they’re posted in front of you), you’ll also talk about them on a regular basis. You’ll start to see your goals from many angles and begin noticing opportunities around you that you didn’t take note of before. When you find people who are motivated to do more in life, you will find yourself also doing more and moving quickly toward where you want to go.
3. Find someone who has already accomplished a goal similar to yours and learn all you can about how they did it. Then just follow the same steps, and you’re certain to be headed in the right direction.
So attend those workshops, and go to those seminars. Give yourself an outstanding WowEnergy kind of boost, and then keep that energy flowing by holding your goals in plain view, spending time with like-minded people, and following someone who has already accomplished what you are setting out to do.
What can you do today?
